On 05/11/2018 the first Regional Meeting of the Laboratory for Blue Energy (RBEL) was organized in Izola. The event was organized by the GOLEA agency within the frame of Maestrale project (Interreg MED Programme).

Within this frame the partnership, project objectives, work packages, stakeholders and the foreseen results of project SEADRION were presented to participants. In addition pilot investments that will be realised through project were presented. All interested stakeholders were invited to attend the event, notably representatives of coastal municipalities, companies dealing with marine energy technologies (eg heat pumps) and ESCO companies, as well as representatives of education and decision-makers at local and national level.

During the meeting the Slovenian legislation regulation was presented, financing possibilities, as well as a set of available technologies and examples of good practices. The lecturers presented also the advantages and obstacles of sea water heat pumps use.  At the conclusion of the meeting a discussion was opened regarding different types of technologies and the possibilities for their integration in our environment.

In addition to the activities of the Maestrale project, the presentation “Blue Energy through the SEADRION Project” was also conducted, which also deals with the energy of the sea, with a view to using heat with heat pumps. During the presentation “Connecting in the region of the region – EUSAIR Facility Point”, the role of this support point was presented, which links the four pillars (maritime and maritime growth, regional integration, environmental quality and sustainable tourism) in the strategic project.
